I’m working on a piece titled “Where do I Want to be Right Now” but it’s not finished. It has turned into a much larger project than what I thought it would be. For now you get a couple bits of writing dribble.
You remember the famous photo of Whoopi Goldberg in a tub of milk by Annie Leibovitz? I was the guy on the set that was sent to get all those gallons of milk. When we were done with the shoot we didn’t know what to do with it. As much as we love Whoopi we didn’t want to drink it due to the fact she really was naked under that milk and we didn’t want to throw it away. I thought why don’t we bottle it up and give it to an animal rescue. After all hungry cats are a lot more tolerable. They don’t care who lies naked in their milk.
I’m reading “The Lie That Tells the Truth” by John Dufresne. For a writing exercise he says to describe how the pen feels in your hand. Don’t get me wrong here, I like John but this is a bit of a stretch for me. Let me ask you, “How does a pen feel in your hand?” I’m going out on a limb here and say that it feels pretty much like that for me. So bend over and cough, open wide and say, “aahhhhh” and pick up your pens and write.
